Livin’ On the Water

As Seen in Sophisticated Living Magazine

Nashville might seem surprisingly blessed with boat-friendly waterways for a city known as a mecca of country music.

We have two major lakes within a few miles of downtown and have the luxury of many lake front homes with boat dock access to these waterways. The major source of water for Middle Tennessee is the Cumberland River, which winds past LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans and infamous Ryman Auditorium. The river snakes up to Lake Cumberland in Southeastern Kentucky. Just a few miles outside of Nashville past the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Hotel, the river is dammed to form Old Hickory Lake, which offers miles and miles of shoreline.

It’s more important today to have a local expert to guide you through the different areas, coves and “hot” spots to get the most bang for your buck on Old Hickory Lake. Many lake homes are found through having my finger on the pulse of lake-front real estate.  Lake home appreciate in value at an accelerated rate compared to other homes. Dock permits are held with a tight fist from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and older homes with great views and grandfathered docks still retain their value.

If you are interested in investing, living or retiring on Nashville’s North Shore, Old Hickory Lake, give me Kari Powell today.
