Livin’ in the Music City
I recently attended my 6th annual Keller Williams Luxury Retreat in Las Vegas where I networked with the top 1% luxury agents in the country. In order to qualify to be a luxury agent, you must be trained by The Institute for Luxury Home Specialists and qualify by sales in the top percentage of your market. These high-minded agents mastermind about the current trends in real estate, latest technologies and marketing strategies to best target market real buyers and give our clients the best exposure for their luxury listing.
It’s amazing how everyone’s face lights up with a smile when I tell them “I’m a born and raised girl from Nashville.” I typically hear something to the tune of, “Nashville? I LOVE Nashville! I visited there and I absolutely loved it!” With our diverse job market, I frequently hear about one of their friends or family members who have moved to Nashville for their career and how much they love it here. With thriving industries like Automobile Production, Finance, Health Care Management, Higher Education, Insurance, Music Production, Printing & Publishing, Technology Manufacturing, and Tourism the career opportunities are abundant.
Don’t just take my word for it. Nashville has recently received the following accolades:
• Travel + Leisure’s Readers’ Choice Destination of the Year. Runners up were destinations like Charleston, Cuba and this city called Paris.
• Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2016 Top Ten City. Nashville was the only U.S. city to make the list that also included Kotor, Montenegro, Quito, Ecuador, and Dublin, Ireland.
• Trip Advisor announced that Nashville leads as the U.S. city gaining popularity among international travelers with an increase of 38 percent year over year.
As our luxury agents dig into each other’s market conditions, it’s always amazing to hear how completely absurd the cost of living is across the country. My colleagues from NY, LA, San Francisco, FL, to Toronto are baffled at what you get for the money in our lovely little big town. In Nashville homes just over $500k qualify for luxury status. Most markets are a minimum of $1M and above.
Nashville consistently ranks among the lowest for cost-of-living in comparable cities across the nation, ranking more cost-efficient than Atlanta, Austin, Tampa, and Cleveland. The overall cost of living is 12.4% less than the national average. In general, groceries, housing, utilities and basically everything other than Taylor Swift concert tickets that compose total cost-of-living are typically below the national average.
Our cost of living draws folks in from around the world, but make no mistake, Nashville knows how to do luxury. We appreciate the finer things in life and excellent service, especially when it comes with a smile and a hug. We are an inclusive community which welcomes our friends from all over the world who want to come enjoy our laid back yet entertaining and sophisticated flavor.
So what does luxury look like in Nashville? One of our exclusive listings exudes what you get for a million in the heart of downtown. This penthouse with a 23ft terrace in the exclusive Cumberland on Church comes with a million dollar view and sits in the hub of what defines Music City.
Within a few steps outside of your front door you can experience world-class art at the Frist Center for Visual Arts, catch a play at Tennessee Performing Arts Center and see your favorite artists perform at the Bridgestone Arena.
You can tickle your taste buds with Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, Jack’s Bar-B-Que, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Merchants and Frothey Monkey or art crawl the local galleries the first Saturday of every month.
There is a reason artists, musicians and celebrities call Cumberland on Church home. The cosmopolitan lifestyle building is renowned for its concierge service.
